March: Fashion advice from Katie

Hello.  I like wearing nothing! JUST KIDDING! I like shorts and shirts and shoes and I think it's funny when people wear turbans. I also like to take my drapes and cut them out to make clothes for homeless baby dolls.  They need clothes too.

And that has been some entertaining fashion advice from my dear friend, Katie.

March: That's so 70's

Yay! So sorry I have not blogged in a while...I have been totally bogged down by homework, stress, presentations, and a super awesome spring break trip. So I am very happy to start blogging once again!

While I was on my trip visiting my family my Aunt gave me a really cool dress! It has a seventies-mod feel and I fell in love with it instantly. I tried to mix in the 70's with some modern stuff too. Heres how I made it work!

Bottom: I added some funky tights underneath. They had a cool and indie pattern which reminded me of the 70's.

Shoes: Next I chose to wear some clunky and chunky black high heels to tie it into a more modern look.

Accessories: Then I piled on lots and LOTS of jewelry! I tried to use different textures (pearls, beads, leather, metals, etc) in each different piece of jewelry. I piled on many bracelets and a lot of rings.
*TIP: Add a lot of rings and braclets to the left or right hand, and minimal jewelry on the other hand. This gives the outfit an asymetric feel. Another cool trend is to stack two large rings together on one finger!

Hair: I  wore my hair straight down, and tied ribbon around it for the classic hippie headband look. I personally think straight hair goes great with a 70's wannabe outfit! I am just thankful that today we can resort to better options to straighten hair than an actual iron.

Make-up: I kept my make-up light and natural except for the mascara. I added lots of layers of masacra with a big fat brush on the bottom and top lashes. That type of make-up makes your eyes big and gorgeous like Twiggy!

Here's how my look turned out!

Now I challenge YOU!
