july: mixing prints

Bonjour! Well, this time I am not gonna make lame excuses for not blogging. :)

In this post, I am going to tell you how to mix and match prints in one outfit! Putting to different ideas into one outfit is a very fun way to creat a unique, avant garde, and awesome look.

Contrast is key!
The two (or more) pieces need to be contrasting. This means...
-One piece bright, the other dark.
-One piece flowy-er/ looser, the other tighter/fitted
-One piece having small prints, the other having larger prints.
By doing this, you are making the busy outfit not TOO busy.

Accesories-
The accesories should be on the neutral side and should be kept at a minimum. A few shiny bracelets, earrings. And sometimes, when you have contrasting top and bottom, a neutral belt can really tie it together.

Shoes and purses!
Shoes and purses can either be neutral or another print to contrast with the already contrasted outfit. For example, my outfit was floral prints on top and bottom, so I would maybe wear animal print shoes or an animal print purse.

Makeup!
Makeup should be fresh and natural!!

Here is how my look turned out.
